Fuse Capacity Check
Estimate how much EV charger power still fits on your main fuse after simultaneous household load. Uses IEC/EU practice with 230 V single-phase and 400 V three-phase figures — a planning aid, not an installation design.
Frequently asked questions
How is headroom calculated?
Available capacity is main-fuse rating minus the simultaneous household load you enter. For three-phase services we use published Swedish consumer kW ceilings where available (e. of 16 A → 11 kW at 400 V); otherwise P ≈ 230×I (1-ph) or √3×400×I (3-ph). The largest standard EVSE in {3.7, 7.4, 11, 22} kW that fits the remaining kilowatts is shown.
Does this include load management / CT clamps?
No. This is a static simultaneous-load check. Dynamic load management (CT clamps, Equalizers, 80% curtailment budgets) can change how much a wallbox may draw in real time — treat those separately with your installer.
UK vs EU fuse ratings?
UK cut-outs are often 60 / 80 / 100 A single-phase at ~230 V. Continental / Swedish huvudsäkring commonly runs 16–25 A (and higher) three-phase at 400 V. Enter your plate rating and phase count; voltages assumed are IEC/EU 230 V 1-ph / 400 V 3-ph.
Is this an electrician sign-off?
No. This calculator is a planning aid only. It does not replace a load assessment by a qualified electrician or approval/notification rules of your DNO / nätbolag / Verteilnetzbetreiber. Local wiring rules (HD 60364 / IEC 60364-7-722, BS 7671 Section 722, national annexes) and manufacturer instructions always take precedence.
