Why do I type the rate?
Rates differ by country, product and date, and change. The tool keeps no table, so the result is only as right as the rate you enter.
Why is removing 25% not the same as subtracting 25%?
The tax was added on the net price, so the gross is net × 1.25. Removing it means dividing by 1.25: from 125 the net is 100 and the tax is 25.
