Cups to Grams
Pick an ingredient and a volume. Grams use that ingredient’s typical weight per 240 ml US cup, and the note says when a scooped cup of flour weighs more than a spooned one.
Frequently asked questions
Why can a cup of flour be 120 g or 142 g?
A spooned and leveled cup holds less flour than a cup dipped straight into the bag. Both rows are listed so you can pick the way you measure.
Which cup size is used?
A 240 ml US cup, 15 ml tablespoon and 5 ml teaspoon. A UK or Australian metric cup is 250 ml, so weights would be about 4% higher.
Are these weights exact?
No. They are typical kitchen figures, not a lab measurement. Humidity, brand and how you fill the cup all move the number.
